Fashion Mashup: JC Edition

JCGoGo

Phillip Mimms has recently collaborated with our beloved Jeffrey Campbell brand to create: Jeffrey Campbell: DNA! According to Mimms, his “project is called “Jeffrey Campbell: DNA”. Each shoe is 100%, entirely consisted from pieces of other JC shoes. It is from the idea that, if shoes had DNA, it could be extracted and injected into others – making a whole new shoe. This is my interpretation.

Ok so we know these shoes really don’t exist, but ummm, we Neeeeeeed & we Wannnnt!

Devoted fashionistas, can you figure out which JC shoe styles were used to create these shoe concepts? Hmmmm, wonder if they will ever become a reality? What do you think dolls?

Ahhhhhhhhh, the NEON, OMG Massive Hawtness!!

Christian Louboutin Fall 2011 Lookbook

loubou1

Famed shoe designer Christian Louboutin and photographer Peter Lippman have teamed up to create LOUBOUTIN’s Fall 2011 Lookbook.

The images are reenactments of iconic 15th century Renaissance portraits, with of course, the shoes from the 2011 collection.

Each shot celebrates the “power of femininity”, embodying the spirit of the Christian Louboutin woman through various historic figures.

I’m not a huge fan of this season’s “been-there, done-that” collection but I can most definitely appreciate the creativity of this concept.

My Sweet “Daffodil”

Pink or royal blue watersnake

Hello all! Time for another shoegasm on this glorious Saturday morning which is sure to make the day brighter and more beautiful than it already is. Why you ask? Because, although I have seen these beauties floating around the scene for a while, this morning it happened. I fell in love… with the Christian Louboutin “Daffodil” platform. The red sole never fails and there are eight pairs that I have found and I don’t see why any girl should have to choose between them! WE WANT THEM ALL!

Pink or royal blue Water snake skin (photo above)… perfect choice for this seasons colour blocking phenomenon!

I have seen them worn by the likes of US presenter LaLa Vasquez, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce to name a few and its not hard to see why these ladies are clambering for this absolute delight. I feel very passionate about these particular shoes. They are just a platform I hear you scream… but NO! When a shoe makes you feel the way these bad boys make me feel, it is never just a shoe! :)

RIGHT, enough gassing from me, let me indulge you…

Black and Camel Crocodile skin… quite formal and office like. I wouldn’t say no to tottering around the office in these!

Leopard and Zebra pony skin… for the absolute animals out there! Sidenote: I want BOTH of these! (do prefer the zebra though)

Sparkling and Black for the Diva’s

*swoon, Swoon SWOON* I am DYING right now!

He strikes again, and my love for studs and spikes once again takes over. Had to share them as I feel no-one should be deprived a shoe-gasm!! I really NEED and I definitely WANT.

Hmmmmmm nude or black? … yeah I agree, BOTH!

Alexander McQueen Tribute Pump

faaaab shoe

Fashion blogger, Kelly Mcintosh was so inspired by Alexander McQueen that when he passed away, she wanted to personally make a donation to his foundation. When she found out that there was no such charity, she did the next best thin and created a pair of shoes in his honor. This is not just any shoe fashionistas and gentlemen, check out these one of a kind, handmade pair of 6 inch feather pumps with red insole and gold guilded brocade heel.

According to Mcintosh, “Alexander has been such an inspiration to me for so many years, and his death felt so personal to myself even though I’ve never met him. He was an artist but not just because of his clothing but become he created a world/fantasy that really took you places. Whether it was under the sea or within a chess game, it was amazing.

Definitely inspiring and creative! I know all of our fashion styling readers are going crazy right now. Although they were created last fall, these pumps are still for sale. Is the $650 price tag suitable? What do you think guys and dolls?

Cassie Hosts Preview of The Giuseppe Zanotti SP ’11

Cassie Ventura

Cassie, soon to release her second studio album Electro Love,  recently hosted a preview of the Giuseppe Zanotti Spring 2011 shoe collection in New York.  She looked gorgeous as she rocked a fishtail braided look; although we’d really love for her to finally grow her hair back.  Its just so two years ago. Either way, she looked beautiful and the shoes were “gasp, swoon, faint!” Kiss Kiss

…Garsh, she looks so much like J Lo in the image below….just saying

Beauty Feature: Topshop Takeover

Heyyyyyyyy babbbbyyyyyyyysssssssssssssssssssssss

My GOSH how I have missed you and your whole lives! A lot has been going on, fashion and otherwise during the time that I last posted.

Anyway as I said, a whole load of stuff has happened so I have loads to share…..

So TOPSHOP! TOPSHOP!!!! TOPSHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am such a big fan of Topshop and must admit that when the store in New York opened i was most distressed! I mean its OURS!!! UK born and bred!!! …BUT now I’m over it!!!! At one point I went through a stage where I wasn’t too into it! But now our love has been rekindled and I can not resist the place! As we all know they always manage to transcend looks from the catwalk into their pieces, making them accessible to those of us who’s bank balances don’t always permit us to have these delightful pieces… (don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about!!! lol)

Topshop does EVERYTHING!

Clothes, shoes, lingerie, nightwear, sweets, jewelery, handbags, sunglasses…you name it they have it! So I guess it is no surprise that they have launched their very own make up line, and it’s fair to say that it is one of the biggest beauty launches of the year so far!

By now you should know what I’m like, can’t resist anything new and exciting and since it has Topshop’s name on it, it’s fair to say that I was a little more than intrigued about the new line and majorly eager to check out the range!

About the range, which launched 5th May 2010, Topshop says: “We wanted to create products that were unlike anything else on the market- products that we would want to buy- products made purely and entirely for the Topshop girl.”

The range was started by focusing on the bare essentials that its creators say are major players and must haves in their own make up bags. A core range of bronzers (and lord knows I love a bronzer) skin tints and glows make up this range whilst the collection named the trend collection is more fun and follows the trends of the current season in beauty! The limited edition collection comes to us every three months! Festivals played a major part in the creation of the line and the products are fashionable and fun…totally fitting with the Topshop brand :)

I checked out the line with my super duper talented MUA friend Vee! As we expected everything was funky looking and had an ”I don’t care, but still look good” attitude! True Topshop Style! There were soooooo many products…glosses, shadows, liners, mascaras, lippys, varnishes, bronzers, primers…you name it they have it!!!

Obviously Vee got stuck right in with the lipglosses. She liked it “glossy but not sticky!” were her words! It looked really good kinda like Mac’s Lipglass range *swoon*

We didn’t try out everything, but we did have a go at the eyeshadows and I must admit, I was a little disappointed. The quality wasn’t what I would have wanted it to be, and that’s probably because I am a Mac girl through and through. Vee explained that the shadows were not highly pigmented which means it tends to come out more sheer when applied, rather than one that is more highly pigmented coming out strong in color! (you learn something new everyday)

I think I will personally stop at varnises, balms and lipglosses (and maybe the odd blush if the shade is cue enough) when it comes to the Topshop makeup beauty range. I don’t wear much make up but when it comes to concealers etc, I think I’m going to stick to my trusted friends over at Mac. They have never failed me, so I’ll stick with what I know! However, I’m not knocking the Topshop range AT ALL….

Overall the general consensus around the line from the little I experienced is that it is fun, easy to apply and affordable for girls who’s pocket money is their only source of income! And that’s not a bad thing at all….because of this, it gets a thumbs up from me!

Need…want?? Topshop.com

Purr-YAY or Purr-NAY???

It looks like kitten heels are here to stay for the spring/summer season with designers like Louis Vuitton, Marni and Chloe jumping on this seemingly popular band wagon and all I have to say on the matter is… hmmmmmm? I mean, OK, they ARE practical but again hmmmmm??? Don’t get me wrong I’m all for comfort and adore my flats, but I’m not sure I’m liking that this trend has reared its head again. NOTE: I didn’t say ugly!

The only pair I have seen that I would slip my little foot into this season is a pair by Marc Jacobs (had to be)…

Cute right! But yeah, not 100% sold on the trend… who knows maybe come “real” spring/summer (because it is raining loads in London at the moment) you guys will see me donning some mini heels, but for now my feeling is BLAH!!

I mean a heel should be a heel right???????
