A REAL Royal Affair

Royal-Wedding-2011-Prince-William-And-Kate-Middleton-Say-i-Will-At-Westminster-Abbey

I have been up since about 7:30am this morning… an early start to watch one of the most anticipated events of the century so far. The royal wedding! I’ve not long finished watching it and I must admit I spent the majority of the ceremony crying!!! It was so romantic. A 21st century Royal wedding and there was lots to see style wise…

Obviously the question on everybody’s lips has been “what is Kate going to wear, who is making the dress?” You can imagine my delight when I see ‘Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge‘ stepping out into the public to reveal what has become known as THE DRESS. The perfect mix of hand made Hampton court lace and silk, the ivory embroidered dress is breathtaking. The high neck line with and long sleeves complimenting Kate’s streamline physique. THEN they tell me that it was made by none other than  Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueencue my screams of delight… and then MORE tears! I was ecstatic and I don’t think Kate could have chosen a better designer or house to make a dress that is going to go down in history and that really symbolizes British fashion. With its stunning resemblance to Grace Kelly’s wedding dress the piece really is fit for a future Queen. Elegant, regal, beautiful the dress suited Kate completely. She has the perfect stature and grace to carry off such an amazing and no doubt soon to be iconic piece.

North London designer Sarah Burton says creating the piece was an “incredible honor.”

Just paused to watch the royal couple leave Buckingham palace in a blue Aston Martin -  Class!!

Kate’s sister Pippa, also in Alexander McQueen, looked an absolute vision! And I’ve already heard from friends and seen a few posts on Facebook and twitter indicating that a few would be brides would happily wear Pippa’s dress down the aisle for their own special day… for the understated bride I see no reason why not. I love the fish tail hem and the structure and cut of the dress is stunning something McQueen is renowned for and, like Kate’s, the dress is classic and timeless. The scoop detail of the neck as well as the embroidery also featured on the cuff of the sleeve was a compliment to the brides dress although not taking any focus away from the woman of the day.

It was all so incredibly romantic, Kate in her amazing dress by a British design legend and Will’s all suited and booted in his uniform, red jacket a blaze, you really can’t blame me for the tears.

And what’s a wedding without fabulous wedding guests?? A few guests have been the talk of social networking sites so far throughout the day and here are a few of my faves and a few who seemed to be pushing the Royal boundaries!!

William’s Cousin Zara Phillip in Metallic and Black…love the Hat/Fascinator

Tara Palmer Tomkinson surely stands out in her choice of head to toe Cobalt blue and eye catching Fascinator

Princess’ Eugenie and Beatrice fascinators adorning both heads… Beatrice is definitely pushing a few boundaries with that one although I wish she had ditched those shoes and opted for the nude Christian Louboutin Mary Jane, the “Lady Daf.” Her sister, although pushing the boundaries slightly, plays it a little safe.

A very pregnant Victoria Beckham SLAYS in a midnight blue boat neck tunic teamed with a Phillip Treacy hat and where would a girl be without her trusted pair of Christian Louboutins. She’s always a good representation of British fashion. Loving the ponytail and the dramatic smoky eye and the accessory on her arm isn’t half bad either! (Love me some DAVID, and he looks to die for as usual)

Needless to say I have an amazing day watching all the footage from this historic day and it was well worth the wait and anticipation to see how everyone would turn up!! Watching Will and Kate today proved that love in the Royal family really does exist. We all stereotype the Royals to be quite cold and unemotional but it was great and I think quite important to see that they feel too, and as seen today, this new generation of Royals are not scared to show their affection for one another. It was an absolute joy to witness and be part of such a momentous day. Here’s wishing William and Kate a very happy, prosperous and successful marriage.

Lady Le Bon

Amber Le Bon

I feel like Amber Le Bon kind of burst onto the scene… no warning, no special introductions. One minute she wasn’t there and the next minute BAM!! Ok I know that she has been around for a couple of years but hey!! One of Britain’s Hottest lady’s in fashion looks like she is here for good, and it has to be said of late I have felt myself beginning to see what all the fuss is about. I must admit I started to take real notice of her when I saw Vogue UK tweeting about what she was wearing (twitter can be such a legend sometimes) but my addiction to magazines made me stumble across a story in Vogue where she was raiding her mothers wardrobe (Yes, I was jealous)

After that she started springing up in all of my beloved mags. This somewhat fashion Goddess seems to be invited to every happening party and every swanky event and its not hard to see why. Every young girl in London (with “that” modelesque look) wants to be like her and every man wants to be with her.

So, who is Amber Le Bon.  Yes, she is daughter to stunning supermodel Yasmin Le Bon and Duran Duran frontman, Simon Le Bon but the 21 year old model (signed to Elite Modeling Agency – New York and Models 1 Agency – London) is fast becoming a style icon that many can relate to due her tendency to mix high street and designer with a bit of vintage flare! The face of Forever 21 really does seem to have it all… and I love it! I adore her style! She’s the quirky, sometimes awkward looking, a pretty girl and hopefully she is here to stay!

Love this

P.S. Does she remind you of anyone?

Here Today, and Definately Here 4.2morrow

4.2

When it comes to upcoming talent on the London fashion scene, you need look no further than the work of the super duper talented quartet behind 4.2morrow.

They do not dissappoint….

The brainchild of four fashion students (Indi, Gabriella, Sabah and Vivienne) who studied at the university of Hertfordshire, the label is an eclectic mix of femininity and edgyness…

My perfect combination!!!!!

On how they started the four say “We found it difficult to get jobs and placements within the industry due the recession, so instead of seeing the recession as a negative we wanted to turn it into a positive and set up our own label”

DON’T YOU JUST LOVE IT!!!!!

The saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” may spring to mind when you think of a label with four designers. I mean, I get it… four minds, four visions, four opinions, but the girls make it work! Gabriella and Sabah are described as the dark, edgy, music influenced pair, whilst Vivienne and Indi are the neat contemporary designers which adds the “pretty” element to the pieces. Put all this onto a sketchboard and you have something not only stunning but also totally unique.

“Die Romantic”, their debut collection launched at London Fashion week 2010 at the Wardolf Hilton, and also showed at Alternative Fashion week. As if this wasn’t enough the label has graced the front cover of popular mag “Masquarade” and featured in “Qlix” Magazine.

I absolutely adore the work of these uber amazing ladies. The intricacy of their designs is something to take note of and I LOVE the fact that the collection has a high fashion element but is still very wearable! Plus the collections name really makes me smile :) There are definitely a few pieces from the collection that need to be hanging in my wardrobe!!!!! There are too many pieces to choose from

SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :)

Along with all of this the girls have informed me that they have recently launched a tee shirt line that is going to be stocked in Trendy East London store “Queen B boutique” as well as setting up their own stall in the popular Camden Market!!! #Excited!!!!

As for the future the designers will be having their first major show at London Edge this coming September, which yours truly has had the privilege of being invited too!!! :) For this they are currently prepping their latest collection “Nightmare Anatomy” as well as a new line of tees. On their current ventures they say “it’s pretty full on at the moment, but we are doing what we wanted to do and its great”

Indeed it is Ladies, keep it coming!

You can contact 4.2morrow via facebook-just search for the label… the website is under construction and as soon as I have the address so will you guys!

Beauty Feature: Topshop Takeover

Heyyyyyyyy babbbbyyyyyyyysssssssssssssssssssssss

My GOSH how I have missed you and your whole lives! A lot has been going on, fashion and otherwise during the time that I last posted.

Anyway as I said, a whole load of stuff has happened so I have loads to share…..

So TOPSHOP! TOPSHOP!!!! TOPSHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am such a big fan of Topshop and must admit that when the store in New York opened i was most distressed! I mean its OURS!!! UK born and bred!!! …BUT now I’m over it!!!! At one point I went through a stage where I wasn’t too into it! But now our love has been rekindled and I can not resist the place! As we all know they always manage to transcend looks from the catwalk into their pieces, making them accessible to those of us who’s bank balances don’t always permit us to have these delightful pieces… (don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about!!! lol)

Topshop does EVERYTHING!

Clothes, shoes, lingerie, nightwear, sweets, jewelery, handbags, sunglasses…you name it they have it! So I guess it is no surprise that they have launched their very own make up line, and it’s fair to say that it is one of the biggest beauty launches of the year so far!

By now you should know what I’m like, can’t resist anything new and exciting and since it has Topshop’s name on it, it’s fair to say that I was a little more than intrigued about the new line and majorly eager to check out the range!

About the range, which launched 5th May 2010, Topshop says: “We wanted to create products that were unlike anything else on the market- products that we would want to buy- products made purely and entirely for the Topshop girl.”

The range was started by focusing on the bare essentials that its creators say are major players and must haves in their own make up bags. A core range of bronzers (and lord knows I love a bronzer) skin tints and glows make up this range whilst the collection named the trend collection is more fun and follows the trends of the current season in beauty! The limited edition collection comes to us every three months! Festivals played a major part in the creation of the line and the products are fashionable and fun…totally fitting with the Topshop brand :)

I checked out the line with my super duper talented MUA friend Vee! As we expected everything was funky looking and had an ”I don’t care, but still look good” attitude! True Topshop Style! There were soooooo many products…glosses, shadows, liners, mascaras, lippys, varnishes, bronzers, primers…you name it they have it!!!

Obviously Vee got stuck right in with the lipglosses. She liked it “glossy but not sticky!” were her words! It looked really good kinda like Mac’s Lipglass range *swoon*

We didn’t try out everything, but we did have a go at the eyeshadows and I must admit, I was a little disappointed. The quality wasn’t what I would have wanted it to be, and that’s probably because I am a Mac girl through and through. Vee explained that the shadows were not highly pigmented which means it tends to come out more sheer when applied, rather than one that is more highly pigmented coming out strong in color! (you learn something new everyday)

I think I will personally stop at varnises, balms and lipglosses (and maybe the odd blush if the shade is cue enough) when it comes to the Topshop makeup beauty range. I don’t wear much make up but when it comes to concealers etc, I think I’m going to stick to my trusted friends over at Mac. They have never failed me, so I’ll stick with what I know! However, I’m not knocking the Topshop range AT ALL….

Overall the general consensus around the line from the little I experienced is that it is fun, easy to apply and affordable for girls who’s pocket money is their only source of income! And that’s not a bad thing at all….because of this, it gets a thumbs up from me!

Need…want?? Topshop.com

Lane to American Apparel CHAOS!

HEYYYYYY! I feel like I haven’t posted for ages. In reality it has only been a few days, lol. Hope everyone had a great Easter!!

This past weekend saw utter madness down at popular London market Brick Lane. Clothing brand American Apparel had a crazy sale where items were supposedly priced from as little as £2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But as we all know when there’s a bargain there are always ruthless shoppers looking to get their hands on a little bit of the treasure!!!! So it’s not surprising that the masses stepped out in full force and all I have to say is WOW! I was supposed to go down to Brick lane and check out the sale (which was advertised on… wait for it … FACEBOOK!! And people wonder why it was mad) but thankfully I didn’t go and get trampled in the stampede!! ;-) I don’t think my little heart would have been able to take it lol.

People really don’t play when the words “fashion” and “cheap” are in the mix, and as popular of a brand that American Apparel is, you can’t be surprised! Despite the madness I heard some good reports and people were really happy with their purchases! As long as it was worth it guys!!! :)

You HAVE to Check out the link below for more, the video is crazy!!

London Loves Felder Felder

If you don’t know about Felder Felder, where the hell have you been??

Felder Felder is a London based fashion Label which was launched by identical twin sisters Annette and Daniela Felder whilst the two were studying at Central Saint Martins in 2006/2007.

Since then the pair have been making MAJOR and I mean MAJOR moves in the fashion world!!!!

I’m really feeling this label! It embodies a rock and roll style which, you will come to find, is one of my favourite looks. Love it immensely! I love the fact that in addition to the rock and roll aesthetic of their pieces, the designers also incorporate a feminine twist which appeals so much to me and, evidently, the labels cult following. The contrast of the feminine and a harsher perhaps more masculine feel within the pairs designs creates the perfect balance that the Felder sisters seem to aim for in their collections.

Needless to say that with all this combined the designs are super doooopppppperrrrr popular with fashion icons like Rihanna and Florence and the machine along with loads more.

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection is baddddd and I love it, want it, NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!

Leather, studs and body bearing are all featured in this collection along with a spot of denim and a dash of tie dye!!! I heart the leather cropped top, denim cut out jeans and the leather biker jackets are RIDICULOUS!!! Give it all to me!

This dress is major too defo makes my top 5 faves from this collection…

The collection to me represents a strong woman that doesn’t take any B.S and knows who she is whilst keeping it sexy…heads defo will turn your way!

The Autumn/Winter 2010/11 collection is T.D.F. (for those of you that don’t know that means “to die for” :) ) Loads of texture and colours include black grey nude and camel.

Ooohhhhhhhh #excited- the only piece in the collection that im still ummmming and ahhhhhhhh-ring about is a white polar bear-esque coat?????

Maybe I don’t like it because I know I could never carry it off #tooshort

If you get your hands on any of the pieces from these collections you will defo be looking the biz. Wall flower you will not be- Bad bish you will be.

Check out the website to see this collection and previous collections too….Definitely worth a gander!!!
