Here Today, and Definately Here 4.2morrow

4.2

When it comes to upcoming talent on the London fashion scene, you need look no further than the work of the super duper talented quartet behind 4.2morrow.

They do not dissappoint….

The brainchild of four fashion students (Indi, Gabriella, Sabah and Vivienne) who studied at the university of Hertfordshire, the label is an eclectic mix of femininity and edgyness…

My perfect combination!!!!!

On how they started the four say “We found it difficult to get jobs and placements within the industry due the recession, so instead of seeing the recession as a negative we wanted to turn it into a positive and set up our own label”

DON’T YOU JUST LOVE IT!!!!!

The saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” may spring to mind when you think of a label with four designers. I mean, I get it… four minds, four visions, four opinions, but the girls make it work! Gabriella and Sabah are described as the dark, edgy, music influenced pair, whilst Vivienne and Indi are the neat contemporary designers which adds the “pretty” element to the pieces. Put all this onto a sketchboard and you have something not only stunning but also totally unique.

“Die Romantic”, their debut collection launched at London Fashion week 2010 at the Wardolf Hilton, and also showed at Alternative Fashion week. As if this wasn’t enough the label has graced the front cover of popular mag “Masquarade” and featured in “Qlix” Magazine.

I absolutely adore the work of these uber amazing ladies. The intricacy of their designs is something to take note of and I LOVE the fact that the collection has a high fashion element but is still very wearable! Plus the collections name really makes me smile :) There are definitely a few pieces from the collection that need to be hanging in my wardrobe!!!!! There are too many pieces to choose from

SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :)

Along with all of this the girls have informed me that they have recently launched a tee shirt line that is going to be stocked in Trendy East London store “Queen B boutique” as well as setting up their own stall in the popular Camden Market!!! #Excited!!!!

As for the future the designers will be having their first major show at London Edge this coming September, which yours truly has had the privilege of being invited too!!! :) For this they are currently prepping their latest collection “Nightmare Anatomy” as well as a new line of tees. On their current ventures they say “it’s pretty full on at the moment, but we are doing what we wanted to do and its great”

Indeed it is Ladies, keep it coming!

You can contact 4.2morrow via facebook-just search for the label… the website is under construction and as soon as I have the address so will you guys!

Lane to American Apparel CHAOS!

HEYYYYYY! I feel like I haven’t posted for ages. In reality it has only been a few days, lol. Hope everyone had a great Easter!!

This past weekend saw utter madness down at popular London market Brick Lane. Clothing brand American Apparel had a crazy sale where items were supposedly priced from as little as £2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But as we all know when there’s a bargain there are always ruthless shoppers looking to get their hands on a little bit of the treasure!!!! So it’s not surprising that the masses stepped out in full force and all I have to say is WOW! I was supposed to go down to Brick lane and check out the sale (which was advertised on… wait for it … FACEBOOK!! And people wonder why it was mad) but thankfully I didn’t go and get trampled in the stampede!! ;-) I don’t think my little heart would have been able to take it lol.

People really don’t play when the words “fashion” and “cheap” are in the mix, and as popular of a brand that American Apparel is, you can’t be surprised! Despite the madness I heard some good reports and people were really happy with their purchases! As long as it was worth it guys!!! :)

This goes out to HE…

I know so far all I have blogged about is women’s bits and bobs, so you’re probably thinking this is all this blog is going to feature…WRONG!!

This blog is about all things fashion and style, regardless of gender and I LOVE MENSWEAR!!!!!!!

I was looking through the catwalk images from the menswear that featured at LFW 2010 (yes, I am still going through all the fashion weeks with a fine tooth comb) and came across a collection by award winning London based designer Carolyn Massey.

The 28 year old is a graduate of the Royal College of Art with an MA in menswear; Massey has set up her international label and has been approached by Topman to create a seasonal diffusion line. She is her 7th season and showed her latest collection at London Fashion Week. Her mainline label exhibits seasonally at Paris men’s fashion week.

“A detail obsessive, who can’t abide man made fibres, her work focuses upon the sartorial code of ‘what it is to be a gentleman’ and how this has been appropriated during times of social or civil unrest.”

AND YOU KNOW I’M SMITTEN WITH IT! (She had me when I read ‘…what it means to be a gentleman…’) lol

Her S/S 2010 & A/W 2010/11 collections are both representations of the contemporary man, yet embody English heritage.

I love the tailored shorts and metallics in the spring/summer collection and the neutrals and greys of the Autumn/Winter line, not to mention the texture and fabrics used in each. I always think the success of a collection is largely based on fabrics used, it sets the tone for the whole line…CRUCIAL!

Here a few pics from each collection

Spring/Summer 2010

Autumn/Winter 2010/11

The Autumn/Winter collection is my fave, but overall a mahooooosive YES from me for Carolyn Massey!

London Fashion Week/Weekend 2010

So it was like a month ago but London Fashion Week passed this February & I spent it with my model man friend Oliver & fellow fashion addict Nikita! (YES my friends name is Nikita, I’m not going mad…)

…Wednesday 23rd Feb

Oliver & I went down to Vauxhall Fashion Scout in Covent Garden

That’s he & I taking dodgy pics together

He’s like 10ft tall and we discovered that someone this tall taking pics with someone who is 5ft 3.5″ (the half is important :) ) presents its challenges!!!!!!!! We had originally set out to watch Alice Palmer’s A/W 2010/11 and got a double dosage (Will explain later)

If you don’t know who Alice Palmer she is, she’s a knitwear designer based in London. Her stuff is A-MAY-ZING and this collection did not disappoint. Maybe it’s because the new collection embodies my current fashion/style mood, but I fell it love (again)- DEEP LOVE. This collection is sexy, loads of power shoulders were featured and crazy studs and spikes all over the place!!! Like I said “DEEP LOVE”.

Here are a few snaps from the show although they aren’t incredibly clear

So the bit that I said I would tell you about … We got a two for one… We went to see one show and got another thrown in for good measure.

The next show was William Tempest which was really good too. The show was absolutely CHOCKA with celebs like Peaches Geldof on the front row.

Oliver had a little thing for this model!!! She was super hot though!!

Loved this collection too!

Then on Saturday 27th Nikita & I got our hineys down to Somerset House to check out London Fashion Weekend to see what cute bits&bobs we could find

~ This is what we wore

I’m HATING on Nikita’s Marc Jacobs bag…*SWOON*

We walked around for what seemed like forever! it was packed and as we all know, Women can be vicious when it comes to shopping.  After shopping was the catwalk show that is held to demonstrate current trends for the season.  Although I’ve known the trends for this season since last season, it was still a good show with some good interpretations of each trend!

Here are a few pics from the runway show..enjoyyyy!
