ISSUED: Your Passport to Fashion

PTBL Arriving Sept 2011

Next Destination: ATLANTA

A fashion editor once stated, “Fashion inspires art and art inspires fashion; but sometimes, travel inspires both!” Passport to Fashion is a high-energy fashion lifestyle event that takes flight in the Fall during the week of Fashions Night Out, a global fashion event produced by VOGUE Magazine and the CFDA.  Passport to Fashion caters to a discerning fashion clientele and infuses the best in fashion, beauty, and art with a host of style makers, fashion elite, and influential industry snobs. While promoting sustainable fashion, an impressive line-up of international designers showcase their couture, avant-garde, and prêt-a-porter collections for the benefit of charity. Guests enjoy non-stop action with back to back runway shows, complimentary cocktails, decadent hors d’oeuvres, an exhibition trunk show, live muse and accessory exhibits, premium entertainment, celebrity appearances, and haute after parties.

A highly anticipated fete, Passport to Fashion is inspired by a jet-setting travel theme, celebrating fashion as it relates to sought-after destinations around the globe, such as London, Paris, Ibiza, and Shanghai. The life of a fashionista can begin with a trip to Hong Kong to meet with potential buyers, then to Milan to source the finest fabrics, and can end in Spain for a bit of rest, relaxation…and shopping of course. They travel to work and they travel to play, in which fashion designers and industry snobs are often influenced and inspired by their travels. Passport to Fashion infuses fashion, film, and art from a well-heeled, well-traveled point of view!

Alberto Seveso Makes Nikon’s Pix Cool

nikon coolpix

Alberto Seveso is a freelance graphic designer from Rome, Italy. O-EMM-GOSH! He is so fabulously talented!  According to Click For Art, he combines vector style graphics and stunning photography with dramatic, inspiring results and they say that he is one of the hottest digital artist’s in the World right now.  Gasp…Swoon…

Client: Nikon Coolpix Colour DNA

Illustrations: Ingrid Baars & Alberto Seveso
Art Director: Stefan Leendertse & Carsten Van Berkel
Agency: Duval Guillaume

He uses a technique called “sperm-shaping,” which simply derives from the form/shape of some vectors very similar to the sperm. See photos for reference. lol.  For our FDA sexy geeks, he has no preference in using PC over a MAC, however he started in Delux Paint until he discovered Adobe Photoshop. At that time he switched to PC and sole began using PhotoShop and Illustrator programs. Believe it or not, he doesn’t draw by hand very well.

Anatomy would have been so much more interesting if we had these images to reference eh?
