Kate Moss in ‘Good Kate, SUPERbad Kate’

KateM

Kate Moss is featured in W Magazine’s “Good Kate, Bad Kate” editorial, which has some very strong religious connotations. Kate is featured as many characters such as a bride, a widow, dead, alive, Jesus, AND the devil. Quite interesting…but Kate is killin’em nonetheless…With all of the illuminati talk, this looks like storyboard for a Rhianna video. (Laughs…and Sighs) Your thoughts?

How do you feel about this imagery? Strong connotations eh…

Timeless…Ageless BEAUTY

A REAL Royal Affair

Royal-Wedding-2011-Prince-William-And-Kate-Middleton-Say-i-Will-At-Westminster-Abbey

I have been up since about 7:30am this morning… an early start to watch one of the most anticipated events of the century so far. The royal wedding! I’ve not long finished watching it and I must admit I spent the majority of the ceremony crying!!! It was so romantic. A 21st century Royal wedding and there was lots to see style wise…

Obviously the question on everybody’s lips has been “what is Kate going to wear, who is making the dress?” You can imagine my delight when I see ‘Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge‘ stepping out into the public to reveal what has become known as THE DRESS. The perfect mix of hand made Hampton court lace and silk, the ivory embroidered dress is breathtaking. The high neck line with and long sleeves complimenting Kate’s streamline physique. THEN they tell me that it was made by none other than  Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueencue my screams of delight… and then MORE tears! I was ecstatic and I don’t think Kate could have chosen a better designer or house to make a dress that is going to go down in history and that really symbolizes British fashion. With its stunning resemblance to Grace Kelly’s wedding dress the piece really is fit for a future Queen. Elegant, regal, beautiful the dress suited Kate completely. She has the perfect stature and grace to carry off such an amazing and no doubt soon to be iconic piece.

North London designer Sarah Burton says creating the piece was an “incredible honor.”

Just paused to watch the royal couple leave Buckingham palace in a blue Aston Martin -  Class!!

Kate’s sister Pippa, also in Alexander McQueen, looked an absolute vision! And I’ve already heard from friends and seen a few posts on Facebook and twitter indicating that a few would be brides would happily wear Pippa’s dress down the aisle for their own special day… for the understated bride I see no reason why not. I love the fish tail hem and the structure and cut of the dress is stunning something McQueen is renowned for and, like Kate’s, the dress is classic and timeless. The scoop detail of the neck as well as the embroidery also featured on the cuff of the sleeve was a compliment to the brides dress although not taking any focus away from the woman of the day.

It was all so incredibly romantic, Kate in her amazing dress by a British design legend and Will’s all suited and booted in his uniform, red jacket a blaze, you really can’t blame me for the tears.

And what’s a wedding without fabulous wedding guests?? A few guests have been the talk of social networking sites so far throughout the day and here are a few of my faves and a few who seemed to be pushing the Royal boundaries!!

William’s Cousin Zara Phillip in Metallic and Black…love the Hat/Fascinator

Tara Palmer Tomkinson surely stands out in her choice of head to toe Cobalt blue and eye catching Fascinator

Princess’ Eugenie and Beatrice fascinators adorning both heads… Beatrice is definitely pushing a few boundaries with that one although I wish she had ditched those shoes and opted for the nude Christian Louboutin Mary Jane, the “Lady Daf.” Her sister, although pushing the boundaries slightly, plays it a little safe.

A very pregnant Victoria Beckham SLAYS in a midnight blue boat neck tunic teamed with a Phillip Treacy hat and where would a girl be without her trusted pair of Christian Louboutins. She’s always a good representation of British fashion. Loving the ponytail and the dramatic smoky eye and the accessory on her arm isn’t half bad either! (Love me some DAVID, and he looks to die for as usual)

Needless to say I have an amazing day watching all the footage from this historic day and it was well worth the wait and anticipation to see how everyone would turn up!! Watching Will and Kate today proved that love in the Royal family really does exist. We all stereotype the Royals to be quite cold and unemotional but it was great and I think quite important to see that they feel too, and as seen today, this new generation of Royals are not scared to show their affection for one another. It was an absolute joy to witness and be part of such a momentous day. Here’s wishing William and Kate a very happy, prosperous and successful marriage.

Alexander McQueen Tribute Pump

faaaab shoe

Fashion blogger, Kelly Mcintosh was so inspired by Alexander McQueen that when he passed away, she wanted to personally make a donation to his foundation. When she found out that there was no such charity, she did the next best thin and created a pair of shoes in his honor. This is not just any shoe fashionistas and gentlemen, check out these one of a kind, handmade pair of 6 inch feather pumps with red insole and gold guilded brocade heel.

According to Mcintosh, “Alexander has been such an inspiration to me for so many years, and his death felt so personal to myself even though I’ve never met him. He was an artist but not just because of his clothing but become he created a world/fantasy that really took you places. Whether it was under the sea or within a chess game, it was amazing.

Definitely inspiring and creative! I know all of our fashion styling readers are going crazy right now. Although they were created last fall, these pumps are still for sale. Is the $650 price tag suitable? What do you think guys and dolls?

Gaga is Such a Lady

gaga-6_160751548649

The March issue of Vogue Magazine features Lady Gaga and the spread, photographed by Mario Testino, is just gorg! Lots of pieces by Alexander McQueen and also Louis Vuitton and Haider Ackermann. The article is very well-written and gives Gaga fans great insight into her way of thinking, from the “Lady” point of view.

We are so used to the Gaga, the blood, the screaming, and over the top garb, that we fail to realize that she is actually very well educated, uber talented, and an all around family girl. I love that we get to see a different side of her, in images and words.

The writer, Jonathan Van Meter, said it best:

“The Gaga half makes immediate, intuitive sense, an utterance that sounds like an infant’s first word but is, in fact, French and means, essentially, to be utterly enthralled by something—excited to the point of being touched by madness. (That it describes both the pop star and her uniquely obsessed fans makes it even more perfect.) But it is the Lady part of her name that has gone underexplored. “

Christmas with the Kardashians

gallery_enlarged-Khloe-Kardashian-Family-Christmas-Card-2010-1215100

Khloe Kardashian recently posted 2010 Christmas card photos on her blog. What a glamorous family!

Check out what went on behind the scenes…

The Black and Whites are Fab!

How ridiculously gorg was Khloe’s Monique Lhullier dress? We think we heart the frou frou this season. Kim K’s winter white Emilio Pucci gown was kinda haute too. Kourtney changed it up and rocked an Alexander McQueen tuxedo, but we would have loved to see her in a dress as her post-baby bod is an inspiration to us all! We’d have to have say that little Mason was best dressed in a custom-made Astor & Black pin stripe suit. lol. Now who’s ready to see the twin’s modeling debut?

Khloe says:

Hi dolls. Christmas cards have always been a REALLY big deal in my family. For as long as I can remember, my mom has made it a point to go all out, whether it was a ninja turtles themed card, or bringing a Santa into the mix, each year she always managed to top the year before. I’d have to say though that our card this year might be my favorite. It turned out beautifully — just SO glam! Plus, Mason is in it, which makes it even more special. Look at him standing there in his pinstripe suit, SUCH A LITTLE GENTLEMAN!!! LOL. I love it!”

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

The Costume Institute at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced it is to stage an exhibition to honour the late Alexander McQueen, with Francois-Henri Pinault of Gucci Group as one of the honorary chairs.

Called Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, the exhibition will be on view from May 4 through July 31, 2011 and will encompass all of his work, from his Central Saint Martins postgrad collection in 1992 to his final runway presentation this past February.

“McQueen had such a singular voice and he was a remarkable technician. He really was one of the most provocative voices of the past 30 years in fashion. His catwalk presentations were outstanding and spans both art and fashion”. He continued, “We want to get across two elements – the spectacle of the runway presentations and the beauty of his craftsmanship,” said the MET’s Andrew Bolton.
