lady_gaga_V_magazine_cover_by_Lemon_Monster

V Magazine recently named Lady Gaga as their new fashion and art columnist and boy are we excited. According to WWD, her first piece will debut in the May 12th issue and as per her twitter, she soon plans to resurrect “TRANSMISSION GAGAVISION” episodes. The best part of all of this is that she was able to get her ‘monsters’ involved in her “Drawn This Way” contest.  The winner will be announced tomorrow and the illustration will run with the column so we shall see shall we digital fashion girls!

Gasp! Clutch Your Sketchbooks…

Pink bombshell Charlotte Free (Inspired by photos taken at the Charlotte Ronson Show)

So….we’re pretty smitten over California artist, Danny Roberts…well, his work. Who can resist beautiful art in the name of fashion? He started a clothing line at the tender age of 13 and has collaborated with Lancome, Full Frontal Fashion, Forever 21, Gwen Stefani’s Harajuki Lovers, and more. He claims he just started to get better “at sketching” only a few years ago, but it seems as if he has been at this for at least a decade. The work is FABULOUS and we love it!

Lady Gaga Unveils Futuristic Image Capturing Sunglasses

polaroid-sunglasses-camera

Lady Gaga was recently appointed as Creative Director for Polaroid and oh did she make it worthwhile. We got goo goo for Gaga as she unveiled a futuristic product line that she co-designed for the “Polaroid Grey Label.”  Polaroid GL20 Image Capturing Sunglasses. Yaaaaaaaas, new technology. OMG! We love it!

Check her out conducting major fashion business at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center January 6, 2011.  The intl pop star addressed the fans and industry reps while she gave a demonstration and said, “Smile! You’re so fuc*ing famous!” and she took a photo of the audience. “You can come to one of my shows and wear them. Take pictures of me dancing on stage,” Love her!

Soon, the company will release a version that allows instant upload to social media sites…oh boy! Twitpics galore!!! lol. To date, there is no release date published; however Polaroid wrote this as the product press release:

• Merges Fashion With Photography: Never before has the world seen fashion, photography and technology come together in one, singular product.
• Tells Your Story to the World: Users can instantly capture or upload photos with the built-in camera and then display the images on the glasses’ LCD screens for others to see.
• Expresses True Artistry and Originality: Only Lady Gaga could create a hybrid that’s part fashion statement, part revolutionary technology and part tool for self-expression.

HAWT!

British Vogue iPad App

Vogue-iPad-App-Contents

The one-off British Vogue iPad App (aka the glamorous experiment) is a complete version of the December 2010 issue of the magazine, which has a star-theme for the holidays.

The cover of the app is the same as the magazine, but a button appears that links to a little behind-the-scenes movie that Mario Testino’s team made of his shoot with Emma Watson. There are several behind-the-scenes videos of different elements of Vogue shoots, including a how-to video with Lisa Eldridge that list the make-up products used in one of the shoots.

Other features:  The ‘Fashion Player’ photo shoots are streamed with music and moving images) and ‘Vogue Shops’ (all of the front/back of book shoot contents categorized); however it has been said that the app is a bit inconsistent and somewhat incomplete and why have all of the contents of the shoot, such as the name and price of the model’s shoes that you could just die for, and no link to shop? Also, there is absolutely no integration or link to the Vogue.co.uk website. Defeats the whole purpose of being “digital.” In any case, it was their first attempt at joining the digital world and we love Vogue so we will give them another chance to improve.  App price is $3.99

Alberto Seveso Makes Nikon’s Pix Cool

nikon coolpix

Alberto Seveso is a freelance graphic designer from Rome, Italy. O-EMM-GOSH! He is so fabulously talented!  According to Click For Art, he combines vector style graphics and stunning photography with dramatic, inspiring results and they say that he is one of the hottest digital artist’s in the World right now.  Gasp…Swoon…

Client: Nikon Coolpix Colour DNA

Illustrations: Ingrid Baars & Alberto Seveso
Art Director: Stefan Leendertse & Carsten Van Berkel
Agency: Duval Guillaume

He uses a technique called “sperm-shaping,” which simply derives from the form/shape of some vectors very similar to the sperm. See photos for reference. lol.  For our FDA sexy geeks, he has no preference in using PC over a MAC, however he started in Delux Paint until he discovered Adobe Photoshop. At that time he switched to PC and sole began using PhotoShop and Illustrator programs. Believe it or not, he doesn’t draw by hand very well.

Anatomy would have been so much more interesting if we had these images to reference eh?
